MPEWU  Microfinance Company Ltd  is registered under the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority – Reg No. 634. We are committed to empowering financially marginalized and vulnerable groups, namely; women, families of children with special needs and persons with disabilities (PWD) among other.

MPEWU (Mpigi persons with unique abilities) started  as a revolving fund to empower parents of children with special needs under special children special people whose cause among others was identified as lack of sustainable domestic source of livelihood.

With support from stakeholders over the years we identified the need to expand our operations and did so and expanded to areas of Mpigi district and the need to advance from a VSLA, SACCO was identified and in 2022 we were registered as a microfinance Non depository institution with our registration name as MPEWU Credit Finance Limited.

We currently run three branches in the sub counties within Mpigi district with a clientele base of over 500 clients within the district. The operations of the project have since expanded and are run by a team of professionals who train different women groups and individual clients about need to save, financial capacity building, business skill management techniques among others. After the training, the team assess the clients creditworthiness and later offers credit to such clients for a repayment period not exceeding six months..

MPEWU’s vision is to build a vibrant, efficient and sustainable revolving Fund program to promote economic and social development of rural poor by building their capacity through training and skill empowerment, Saving and improving opportunities to access loans to eradicate poverty through attaining self-reliance and sustainability by setting up profitable micro businesses.

  2. Promote positive community mindset through inclusive community working relationships.
  3. Create community awareness about importance of saving and borrowing
  4. To train financial and adult literacy while promoting financial self-reliance.
  5. To promote health awareness through promoting social groups that share reproductive health, drug abuse, HIV and hygienic ideas among members.
  6. To combat domestic violence through boosting family income.
